Frontier Town, Ocean City, MD

A long trip to one of our favorite campgrounds, Frontier Town located just outside Ocean City, MD.  The weather this summer has been unseasonably cool and that continued through our trip.  To me, the weather was perfect – low 80s during the day and high 50s at night.

We spent the morning of July 4th on the beach at Assateague.  It’s great that you can take the dogs out onto the beach and let them have some fun too.

Andrew and the dogs spent most of the morning in the shade.  At some point, Matthew got some sort of rash on his back – we have no idea where it came from, but by the time we left, it was gone.

In the evening, we went to the fireworks on the beach in Ocean City.  The campground had a shuttle running, so it was easy to get down there.

The trip back from the campground was a bit more adventurous.  It took almost 2 hours to go less than 5 miles – not fun on a hot school bus.

The trip was perfect, we had two days on the beach, one day on the boardwalk in Ocean City, one day enjoying the cowboys at Frontier Town, a couple days worth of crabbing, numerous campfires and evening outdoor movies and some time with our friends the Raups.
